Darrell’s Story

Darrell was an Assistant Vice President in a financial services company. He had at one time been identified as a high potential employee, but his employer was struggling financially and had curtailed all employee development activities. Not surprisingly, Darrell felt uncomfortable and came to believe that the company was less than committed to his future growth. He wasn’t entirely sure where to turn, but a friend suggested he contact Career Summit. Following a preliminary discussion of his circumstances and concerns, Darrell chose to engage with Chris, a senior executive coach, in a Three Phase Coaching Program that focused on him: 1) Achieving a better understanding of himself and his impact on peers, subordinates and superiors, 2) Taking steps to address issues he personally recognized (and several that had surfaced in performance reviews) as being beneficial to enhance his work performance, and , 3) Coaching to build his confidence as an emerging leader. When an opportunity presented itself outside his company, he was prepared to effectively communicate his strengths and capabilities and successfully transition to a new company.
